Opal Elwell is creating magic, sapphic vampire spectacles with orchid mantises, and exploring their sexual identity without the weight of religious guilt in their upcoming Hymen Opus, a reworking of one of the first puppet shows they made, March 22nd, 2026 at the Stone Circle Theatre and as part of the New Orleans Giant Puppetry Festival this April.
